This is one very nice set of knives!! The knife block is very heavy, and the craftsmanship of the blocks, as well as the knives are seriously impressive! They are a little heavier to hold, but IMO it just speaks even more to its quality. They are EXTREMELY sharp, but that can always change quickly, so this is one of those things where I will have to check back and add to my review after several months of using them, which I will do. As of now, I think that these are seriously amazing, and I am very happy to own such a NICE set of knives! I would definitely recommend them to buy for yourself, or as a gift to anyone you know needs knives. What attracted me to this set was the contrast- white block with black handles. This did not disappoint. Looks just like the pictures. The set is very giftable and the packaging looks great.The knives are a good weight and very well balanced and super sharp. The knives are excellent quality. The scissors have a good design and feel and I would rate them very good.My only negative is on the knife block itself. The exterior is very smooth and finished and the white coating looks very good. The main block is from a solid piece of wood. Overall workmanship is very good. The finish just did not seem as durable as it could be and did not appear to have a clear coat over it. Also the block layout is your standard layout and would have liked to see something a little more creative.Overall a high end, good looking set.

If you are just staring out and need a set of quality knives, if you have a set of older, cheaper, dull knives, or are looking for a really nice gift (whether wedding, birthday or other) this will fill all of those needs. These knives are really well made. They are also a tremendous value because much lesser knives are in big box and departments stores for about the same price. With this set, you get an Asian-edge knife that is super sharp. Made of high-quality carbon steel. A quick pull along the sharpening steel will keep them razor sharp. A full tang is important as it creates balance and a secure, safe knife. These are all full tang. That means the blade of the knife runs all the way through the handle with the handle riveted on. Large finger guards where the handle meets the blade. Comes with all the knives you would need in your kitchen, along with steak knives and scissors. Also comes with a nice looking knife block. A tremendous value for all the knives you get at this quality level. These are not run-of-the mill cheap knives... they are quality steel and very well made.

The knives in this set are beautiful and super sharp! The look and feel excellent quality and well-made. I love, love, love the handles! Each piece has a good weight to it and feels good in the hand. I gave myself two tiny paper cut-like slices just opening up and inspecting them. I am very impressed with this set, it's much better than expected! I am super happy with these knives! I would definitely purchase this for myself or as a gift!
